Employment Opportunity -- Media Lab Technician
The P. R. Community & Student Association invites applications to fill the position of Media Lab Technician, available at Sadleir House in Peterborough, Ontario. Celebrating its tenth year of operation, Sadleir House is an independent, non-profit educational facility owned by the students of Trent University and shared with the community as a whole.
The successful candidate will work to promote the new Sadleir House Community Innovation Lab Computing Centre. This position will research and deploy digital solutions for the lab in addition to possible work in researching and installing related hardware. In addition, this position will develop training modules (in multiple media) to help train users on the software available for use in the Computing Centre (such as Adobe CreativeSuite). The Media Lab technician is also expected to aid in the operations of the Sadleir House Library.
Eligibility & Qualifications
This position is funded by Industry Canadaâ€™s Youth Internship Program and subject to the following eligibility criteria:
-Youth must be between 15-30 years old at time of start of their internship.
-Youth must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
-Youth must not be in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits
-Youth must be a post-secondary graduate or have completed at least 1 course.
-Positions must be filled by Youth Interns who have not previously received funding from an OLA administered grant process.
Term & Compensation
September 2015 - 31 March 2016
$14 /hr, 420-hour contract (approx. 15-18 hours per week)
